Outside
the Camp

G’day, Shalom and Welcome —

Yeshua/Jesus said, “The reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to Me” — John 18:37.

Listening to Him is to know and see things the way they really are. His voice is like no other!

“The chief priests and the Pharisees sent temple guards to arrest Him… Finally the temple guards went back to the chief priests and the Pharisees, who asked them, ‘Why didn’t you bring Him in?’ ‘No one ever spoke the way this man does,’ the guards replied.” - John 7:32,45-46

The cornerstone and plumbline of truth, life, freedom and peace are in Yeshua/Jesus. “So let us go to Yeshua/Jesus outside the camp, bearing the abuse/humiliation He bore” — Hebrews 13:13.

The Heart —

Outside the Camp →

“So let us go to Yeshua/Jesus outside the camp, bearing the abuse/humiliation He bore.”

There is no existence, life and light apart from Yeshua/Jesus. He is our Creator, Saviour, Wisdom and Sustainer. “Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” - John 1:3-4. “In these last days He [God our Father] has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom also He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word.” - Hebrews 1:2-3

Living independent from, even hostile toward, the love and truth in Yeshua/Jesus, elevates our thoughts and ways above His. To deliver us from this self-righteous pride, and restore relationship with God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, in love Yeshua/Jesus died on the Cross and was raised from death.

Outside the camp of our self-inflating pride are those who embrace the truth Yeshua/Jesus spoke: “For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” - Luke 14:11; 18:14

On The Side of Truth →

Everyone on the side of truth listens to Me.” – Yeshua/Jesus

The greatest mark and influence on history and humanity has come through Yeshua/Jesus of Nazareth, a Jew. On hearing and experiencing the good news and truth about Yeshua/Jesus, many have accepted Him as the most authentic reason for life and breath as we know it.

This good news of hope was declared to the people of Athens, Greece, during the first century following Yeshua’s/Jesus’ birth, death and resurrection. This good news came through Paul the apostle, who had once been a fierce opponent of Yeshua’s/Jesus’ followers. It was said of Paul: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” - Galatians 1:23

This radically changed man declared in Athens,“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth… He Himself gives life and breath and everything else. From one man He made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any one of us. ‘For in Him we live and move and have our being.’” - Acts 17:24-28

Speaking Engagements

“They raised their voices together in prayer to God. ‘Sovereign Lord,’ they said, ‘You made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them. You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of Your servant, our father David:

“Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against His anointed Messiah.”

“…enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.

“Stretch out Your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of Your holy servant Jesus.

“After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.”

Acts 4:24-26,29-31

About Colin —

Born October 7, 1958

Box Hill, an eastern suburb of Melbourne, Australia, was where I was born and grew up. My father, Morris Brown, was a World War Two veteran. My mother, Jean Brown (nee Coto), a Victorian school-girl tennis champion, who at the time of meeting my dad, was being trained and prepped in hope to represent Australia at Wimbledon. My grandfather, Ian Coto, was the grandson of my Chinese and Scottish forefathers. The heart-changing and life-giving impact the Lord Jesus had on their lives, is the same grace I have found and faith I share.
